What our Customers Say

Melissa Wu⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We were recommended Zenith when we were quote hunting for our move. The quote process was easy and straight forward. Our move from NYC to Connecticut was fuss-free thanks to Zenith. They do a video call to assess the items you have and provide a quote that covers everything (excl. tips) so you don’t have to worry about additional/hidden fees. Though they arrived 1 hour late, they were efficient in moving and wrapping our big items. I love that they provided us with extra boxes on the day of move as we ended up needing quite a few. They arrived 30 min earlier than us in the new apartment and waited for us with things ready to be moved. No damage to the apartment and friendly team. Thanks Kiko, Emma, Paco and team.
Ksenia Johnson⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
While Zenith did come highly recommended, I thought they were overpromising. I now bite my tongue, not only did they deliver as promised but went far and beyond the expectations. Kiko makes the planning process seamless. He accommodated every request I had and put up with all my questions at all times of day, never saying no. I initially booked 1 move but ended up doing 4. His team, led by Paco and Hassan were outstanding. So efficient, funny and easy to work with. They deserve every star!
ND⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Where do I start? After doing extensive research we went with Zenith Moving As they came in highly recommended. Kiko communicated everything to us from the first minute and made move a lot less stressful. We have a lot of stuff of value, and also things that are not top dollar value but huge value to us. These guys took care of every single item in the house! Everything was double or triple wrapped and not a single item broke or got damaged. These guys are fast and focused so make sure you stay out of their way while they are working lol. I’m so happy I listened to Kiko and took packing service. Trust me you can never pack like these guys would do it for you. Also, our move was local in the midst of Hurricane Ian here in Fort Lauderdale, FL and I was afraid they would cancel but that didn’t happen so I’m very grateful. All in all just an amazing experience with these group of guys, would definitely highly recommend to anyone!
Kaitlin Macholz⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My experience with Zenith Moving was exceptional! They were extremely professional and responsive. Throughout the week leading up to my move, they were proactive in coordinating details. Moving can be a stressful process but they always made me feel like they had everything under control. On the day of the move, their team was efficient and did a great job with everything, and checked in throughout to make sure that I was happy with how things were going. I had a great experience couldn’t recommend them more, and definitely will work with them again in the future!
Maria Wu-Chang⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had a 3 part move, from Brooklyn to Long Island and 20% of the boxes/furniture going into storage. Kiko came and had a very thorough meeting with me looking over and taking inventory of all the items and gave me a good competitive price. It was full pack and full move, partly into storage and rest moved into a house in Long Island. The day of the move, the packing went smoothly and way quicker and all seamless, boxes were properly tagged and all things went into storage with labels. The actual move to the house was also quick and professional. Beds taken apart and properly assembled back together and one of their crew even helped me unpack my entire kitchen which went quicker than I can ever do myself. All in all a wonderful experience and I truly value Kiko’s and his crews incredible work ethnic. So much so that I now became a repeat customer.Had another move to decorate our new house and had him move pieces from an apt from the city last week! Kiko even picked me up, drove me to the city and dropped me off back at my house, total catered service! If you are looking for a great moving company who takes cares in their work, look no further! Planning a Fine Art Move From NYC: What You Should Know

Relocating fine art is not simply about moving objects from one place to another. It means entrusting pieces that carry financial value, personal meaning, and cultural significance to professionals who understand what is truly at stake. Whether you are moving a private collection, preparing artwork for a new residence, or coordinating a gallery or studio transition, fine art moves require a level of planning and care well beyond standard moving services.

A fine art move from NYC represents a careful transition, not a routine shipment. While you focus on the next chapter for your collection or space, each artwork must be prepared for handling, transport, and placement with precision. The right fine art movers bring structure, discretion, and expertise to that process. At its core, fine art moving is about trust. Trust that condition will be preserved, risks will be minimized, and every piece will be treated with respect from the first touch to final placement.

Start With a NYC Fine Art Moving Plan That Works

Step 1: Secure Your Move Date Early

Fine art moves often involve custom crating, specialized equipment, and coordinated access, which means availability can fill quickly. Securing your date early allows for proper preparation without rushing.

  • Schedule your move well in advance whenever possible
  • Confirm preferred pickup and delivery windows
  • Share building rules, elevator access, and loading restrictions early
  • Provide artwork details such as dimensions, medium, and special handling needs

We plan your fine art moving timeline carefully so each step is deliberate and controlled.

Step 2: Review and Prioritize the Artwork Being Moved

Every piece in a fine art move requires individual consideration. This is the time to decide how each artwork should be handled, packed, or stored.

  • Identify high-value or fragile pieces that require custom crating
  • Separate works that may need conservation review before moving
  • Decide which items will be relocated immediately versus placed in storage
  • Document the condition and existing framing before packing

A clear inventory allows us to tailor protection methods for each piece.

Step 3: Pack With Preservation in Mind

Packing fine art is about preservation, not just protection. Materials, techniques, and handling must match the artwork itself.

  • Use museum-quality packing materials and archival wrapping
  • Apply layered protection suited to the medium, such as canvas, glass, or sculpture
  • Create detailed condition reports before packing
  • Label crates and packages clearly for orientation and handling

If you prefer a fully managed approach, our fine art packing and custom crating services handle every detail with precision.

Step 4: Coordinate Pickup, Transport, and Placement Details

Fine art moves often take place in buildings with strict access rules and sensitive environments. Planning these details avoids unnecessary risk.

  • Reserve elevators or loading zones at pickup and delivery locations
  • Confirm placement instructions for each artwork
  • Provide accurate on-site contact information
  • Keep documentation and insurance records accessible

Thoughtful coordination at this stage ensures your fine art move remains controlled, efficient, and secure from beginning to end.

What Happens After You Book Your NYC Fine Art Move?

  1. We review every artwork detail with you — We confirm pickup and delivery locations, building access, elevator reservations, artwork specifications, packing and crating needs, handling requirements, and timing considerations. Nothing is assumed, and every piece is planned individually.
  2. You are assigned a dedicated fine art move coordinator — One experienced coordinator oversees your fine art move from start to finish. You always know who to contact, and all communication stays centralized and precise.
  3. Packing and custom crating are scheduled if needed — If professional packing or custom crating is required, it is scheduled in advance. This ensures each piece is prepared correctly based on its medium, size, fragility, and value.
  4. Pickup takes place as planned — Our fine art team arrives on time, conducts a walkthrough with you, and documents each piece with a detailed inventory and condition photos before handling begins.
  5. You receive updates throughout transport — Your coordinator keeps you informed during transit, so you always know where your artwork is and what stage the move is in.
  6. Delivery includes placement, not just arrival — Upon delivery, artwork is carefully uncrated and placed according to your instructions. We ensure each piece is positioned properly and handled with care in its new environment.

What Happens on the Day of Pickup?

Pre-move walkthrough

We review the artwork inventory, confirm access points, identify pieces requiring special handling, and make sure the handling plan is clear before packing and loading begin.

Before we arrive: Point out especially fragile, high-value, or sentimental pieces, and let us know about any specific handling or placement preferences. Prior condition photos or documentation can be helpful.

Careful packing and loading

Artwork is wrapped using museum-quality materials, placed into custom crates when required, and secured properly for transport. Floors, walls, and doorways are protected throughout the process.

Move day communication

You receive clear updates as the move progresses, so there is no uncertainty at any stage.

Arrival and placement

The delivery location is treated with the same care as the pickup site. We work methodically, follow placement instructions closely, and handle every piece with patience and precision.

Final confirmation

We consider the move complete only after you confirm that all artwork has arrived in the expected condition and placement. That is the standard we hold ourselves to on every fine art move.

Pro Tips for Your NYC Fine Art Move

Document each artwork’s condition before packing, especially for high-value or irreplaceable pieces

Avoid labeling artwork directly. All identification should be placed on wrapping or crates only

Remove loose hardware, frames, or hanging systems when advised

Plan flexibility into scheduling, as fine art moves may require additional time for careful handling

Inform us early about challenging access points such as narrow staircases, limited loading areas, restricted elevator use, or long carry distances

What If Something Is Lost or Damaged During a Fine Art Move?

Do We Provide Coverage?

Yes. Fine art moves include basic liability protection, and additional coverage options are available depending on the value, medium, and sensitivity of the artwork being moved. Here is what that means in practical terms.

Basic Liability Coverage

This coverage is included automatically at no additional cost.

It provides limited protection based on weight rather than the actual market or appraised value of the artwork. Because fine art value is not determined by weight, this coverage is considered minimal and is not intended to reflect true replacement or restoration costs.

Example: An artwork or crate weighing 100 pounds may be covered at a set rate per pound, resulting in a limited reimbursement amount that does not represent its artistic or financial value.

This option offers baseline protection only.

Full Value Protection

This is an optional coverage upgrade and the recommended choice for fine art moves.

Your artwork is protected for its repair, restoration, or replacement value based on declared or appraised worth. If a piece is damaged or lost, coverage applies according to agreed valuation terms.

Collectors, galleries, designers, and institutions typically choose this option for peace of mind, especially when moving original works, sculptures, framed pieces, or one-of-a-kind items.

Some clients also work with third-party fine art insurance providers for exceptionally high-value or irreplaceable pieces.

💡 Tip: Check your existing fine art or collections insurance policy. Some policies already include transit coverage when professional art movers are used.

What To Do If Something Is Lost or Damaged

Step 1: Review the condition report and inventory
Each artwork is documented with an inventory and condition report before transport. Begin by reviewing those records to confirm the item details.

Step 2: Gather documentation
Take clear photos of the issue and collect any relevant documentation, such as prior condition photos, appraisals, or restoration records.

Step 3: Contact us promptly
Reach out to your Zenith Moving fine art coordinator as soon as possible. Early communication allows us to guide you through the next steps and coordinate resolution efficiently and professionally.

How Do You Know If a NYC Fine Art Moving Company Is Legit?

Before trusting anyone with valuable artwork, there are a few non-negotiable standards every legitimate fine art moving company should meet.

Proper Licensing and Fine Art Handling Credentials

A reputable fine art mover is properly licensed and insured and has documented experience handling artwork, not just household items. They should be able to clearly explain their training, handling procedures, and insurance options for art and collectibles.

Written Estimates Based on Artwork Details

A legitimate fine art mover provides a written estimate based on real details such as artwork dimensions, medium, value range, packing or crating needs, access conditions, and placement requirements. Vague pricing without reviewing the artwork is a red flag.

No Brokers and No Unknown Hand-Offs

Your artwork should never be passed to unknown third parties without your knowledge. At Zenith Moving, fine art moves are handled directly by trained art handlers from pickup through delivery and placement, so responsibility is always clear.

Clear Inventory, Condition Reports, and Updates

Professional fine art movers document artwork condition before transport and provide clear communication throughout the move. You should always know where your pieces are and what stage the move is in.

Want to Be Extra Sure?

Ask questions. A legitimate fine art moving company welcomes them. Chances are, we have already handled artwork very similar to yours, whether it involves private collections, gallery installations, artist studios, or institutional pieces.

If you are still comparing companies or doing research, that is completely normal. Moving fine art is a serious decision and deserves careful evaluation.
